Athletic Field Construction for OSU

Another project with the Oregon State University (OSU). This time, we are providing the excavation services, site development and underground utility work for a new track & field complex giving the University’s sports program a real boost.

Challenges

Because location of the new sports field construction was formerly an old logging pond, our first challenge is the removal of massive wood debris buried 3 to 5 feet below the surface. Also, to accommodate their synthetic turf, we need to exceed standard grading tolerances for the athletic field construction.

Outcome

With excellent communication and planning, we removed wood debris without having the process negatively impact our budget or schedule. And our machine-controlled grading equipment conformed and delivered the required grading necessary for a solid, final surface. Everything's on-track for a successful project completion.

"K&E’s  product was installed exactly to the plans and specifications and their flexibility in executing the overall project schedule was outstanding. This project required significant coordination with the electrical and H-pile installation contractors, K&E’s support in this area  contributed heavily to the success of the project."
