Ken Jernstedt Airfield Runway Shift Project

K & E Excavating is the prime contractor for the renovation of the Ken Jernstedt Airfield in Hood River, Oregon.  The project consists of the removal and reconstruction of the existing taxiway along with extending and resurfacing the main runway.  The airfield's storm systems are also being reconstructed to allow for better site drainage.  K&E will construct approximately 41,250 SF of new runway and 106,400 SF of new Taxiway for the Hood River Airfield.  The construction will continue through the fall of 2012 and will prepare the site for paving, which will occur in the spring of 2013.
