I-5 Victory Blvd. to Lombard Street
Project Manager: Dave Gobbel
Superintendent: Bob Turney
Widening of Interstate 5 at the Delta Park area including the bridges at Columbia Blvd. and the Columbia Slough. Widening will also include reconstruction and removal of both on and off ramps at Columbia Blvd. and Victory Blvd. Approximately 132,300 tons of import structural fill will be place for the widening and new ramp construction, along with 43,000 tons of aggregate base for the roadway expansion. New drainage and swales are incorporated into the new design along with MSE (Mechanically Stabilized Earth) retaining walls at the new ramp construction. Project will start in April 2008 and scheduled for a October 31, 2010 completion. K&E Excavating, Inc. will be the Earthwork and Drainage Contractor while Hamilton Construction Co. will be the General Contractor.
"K&E’s product was installed exactly to the plans and specifications and their flexibility in executing the overall project schedule was outstanding. This project required significant coordination with the electrical and H-pile installation contractors, K&E’s support in this area contributed heavily to the success of the project."
